   I am goint to ask a strange favor: PLEASE PUT A LINK HERE FOR THE DOWNTOWN MUSIC GALLERY INSTEAD OF A DOWNLOAD.

   The two men behind this project run that record store in NYC and they are hurting financially. They are the most supportive people in the NYC scene and deserve your financial support. (I was at several gigs with both of them this month, they put out this record and others, they pay the artists they work with and they host music events regularly).

   DMG has been supportive of all three men and I know that they have longstanding personal relationships with both Anders and Raoul, both of whom they have introduced me to during in-store performance or live shows they have sponsered..

   If for no other reason you may want to think about helping them because they have thousands of hours of recorded music they can’t afford to put out because they have lost so much on prior releases. They are sitting on a multi-disc set of Fred Frith/Chris Culter/Tim Hodkinson with guests like Hugh Hopper, but can’t afford to move forward.

   Normally, I am very supportive of sharing files, but in this instance it is simply not helpful. You can discover a wonderful world of music at DMG. Check their website http://www.downtownmusicgallery.com.

   I am sorry to preach, but anyone who lives in NYC and knows these two men, will back me up on the fact that Manny & Bruce have worked tirelessly to promote the music we love, at their own personal expense.
